  • The 2021 Florida Legislature passed SB 90 Elections establishing new requirements for drop boxes. 
  • In 2022, the Florida Legislature renamed drop boxes to Secure Ballot Intake Stations with the passage of SB 524 Election Administration
  • While litigation is ongoing, the new name and new requirements are in effect for the 2022 Elections.


Early voting Information

What does this mean to Voters?


1. Secure Ballot Intake Stations will be available at all Early Voting Locations during the hours of early voting. 


2. A Secure Ballot Intake Station will be available from 8am to 5pm inside the Supervisor of Elections Office, 96135 Nassau Place, Suite 3, Yulee.  The dropbox previously located outside will not be available for use.


3. A Secure Ballot Intake Station will be available from 8:30am to 5pm at the Fernandina Beach Historic Courthouse (SOE Satellite Office).


4. Secure Ballot Intake Stations will be located inside each location to meet the supervision requirements of SB90.


5. Secure Ballot Intake Stations will be monitored by Election Workers.


6. All ballots deposited in Secure Ballot Intake Stations will be retrieved and secured at the close of each day.
